It´s the small things that matter…or is it the short ones? The 13th edition of Vienna Independent Shorts (VIS), taking place May 25-31, arms itself with a selection of short films to convince you that Fear Is Not an Option.

The heart of the festival is its competition. International films and videos are divided into a fiction and documentary, an animation and avant-garde and music video sections. A total of 81 works in the competition come from almost 30 countries and include also recipients of major awards such as A Man Returned (Silver Berlin Bear), Edmond (BAFTA), Le repas dominical (César) and prizewinners from the festivals in Clermont-Ferrand, Toronto, Tampere, Rotterdam and elsewhere.
