kino prahaKino Praha, o. s. is a non-profit organization (civil society), established in 2011 by Czech young independent filmmakers, people interested in filmmaking, cinema education and film festivals organization. Kino Praha is part of world-wide independent network „Kino“ based in Montreal, Canada from where the concept of short, independent film low-budget making was spread across the ocean. These days there are more then 60 Kino organizations in Canada, Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia which organize so called „Kino Kabaret“ film workshops. The produced short films are screened at the regular screenings of Kino groups all over the world and are streamed and distributed online. More information about Kino Kabaret is available here.

Main aim of Kino Praha is to support young artists, filmmakers, to create environment for independent short-film production and platform for screening films in the public and distribute them within the network all over the world, to cooperate between Czech and international film organizations, festivals, training courses, attending international youth exchanges etc.

Kino Praha, o.s. is a member of NISI MASA – European Network of Young Cinema, since April 2012. Members of Kino Praha also cooperate on various film projects within the NISI MASA network. Kino Praha was participating in various projects within the NISI MASA network since 2012 – such as Visegrad Shorts On Tour, collaborative film project BATESIAN, Le Jour Le Plus Court film screening, and every year is attending the General Assembly of the network.

They are currently preparing a 6 days international Kino Kabaret Praha film workshop – location to be decided (it might be outside of Prague in a smaller city for a change) – for August or September 2015!
